How to Prevent Application Crashes

A crash is when something experiences a fault and has no choice but to stop or exit. In computer system, an application crash means that the programme has encountered an error and has to be terminated. This can be caused by something as simple as file conflicts, or trying to access a section in memory that has either become damaged or that belongs to another process.

When a programme or software is crashing, we need to check the possible causes and try relative solutions. After all, we need to make the programme or application work. Here below are some troubleshooting method that we can try when a programme suddenly stops or crashes.

1. uninstall and reinstall the application.

In many cases, if a programme fails to work, the reason may be some corrupted components in the programme during installation. Thus the programme does not function correctly and populate the error. By reinstallation, we can reconstruct the software components and replace those corrupted with correct ones. This method sounds very simple but may possibly be able to solve the issue in a minute.

2. temporarily turn off your protective software

When a programme fails to work, it may be blocked by other software, for example, an antivirus programme. When you install a programme, the antivirus software will always ask if you want to block it. If you do not pay attention to the notice, you may accidentally block the application. So, when you run the application and find it cannot start, make sure to check the black list in the antivirus. It is suggested that you add the application to the white list of your protective software.

3. turn off or uninstall programme that may cause conflicts

For some functional software, such as antivirus, anti-malware and optimizing tools, they do not tend to be friendly with their kind. They may conflict, or even fight with each other. Why? Because these tools are fixing tools and they need to take control of the whole system, including other software. When both of them try to take control of the computer, they will begin to fight. So, you may uninstall one and just keep the other one.

4. fix the memory damage to allow system read the programme information

As we mention above, application crash may be caused by damaged memory. To settle this issue, we will need to fix the damage in the memory. But you cannot do this by yourself; you will need to use a memory fixer. Download and install the memory fixer, it will quickly scan your memory ram and fix the damage for you. After the fix, you will not have application crash anymore.
